LUX* Le Morne Resort Gets a Facelift
Nestled between the majestic Le Morne Brabant Mountain and one of the most picturesque lagoons in the Indian Ocean, LUX* Le Morne Resort recently underwent a facelift, offering a lighter, brighter contemporary look that blends harmoniously with the unique flora and fauna of the expansive resort grounds and surrounding environment.
The resort’s executive team, together with Studio Des Iles Architects oversaw the revitalisation project, working side-by-side with their team members to lovingly restore the 24-year-old property.
One of the many new highlights to seek out include Vik’s place, named after LUX* Le Morne’s treasured team member who has worked at the resort for 18 years. Go on a fishing trip on a traditional pirogue with Vik or learn to remove uni from freshly caught sea urchins. Vik will invite you to his communal table and share memorable moments over a glass of bubbly.
Those looking for a spot of privacy with a loved one will find the perfect hideaway at the new Tree House, tucked away in between branches, with a magnificent view of the sunset or to gaze upon the stars after dinner. LUX* Le Morne reunites Mauritian hotels to combat food wastage
On Friday 25 January, more than 120 hotel representatives and entrepreneurs have gathered at LUX* Le Morne to attend the “Zero Food Waste Forum”, which is dedicated to hotels in Mauritius. For this first edition, LUX* Le Morne has collaborated with FoodWise, an NGO in Mauritius dedicated to rescuing fresh surplus food, in order to raise consciousness on the impact of food waste and to educate hotels on how to use their food surpluses more wisely and effectively.
